Complete Beginner's Guide

Follow this step-by-step guide to buy and stake CAPX tokens on Polygon. No prior crypto experience needed!

Important Security Reminders
  • NEVER share your seed phrase (12-24 words) with anyone. Not even support staff.
  • Bookmark official sites to avoid phishing scams. Always verify URLs.
  • Start small when trying for the first time. Test with a small amount first.
  • Double-check addresses before sending transactions. Crypto transactions cannot be reversed.
  • Keep gas fees in mind. You need POL (Polygon's native token, formerly MATIC) to pay for transaction fees.
1

Install MetaMask Wallet

Your digital wallet to store and manage crypto

  1. Visit metamask.io and click "Download"
  2. Install the browser extension (Chrome, Firefox, Brave, or Edge)
  3. Click "Create a new wallet"
  4. CRITICAL: Write down your 12-word Secret Recovery Phrase on paper. Store it safely offline. This is the ONLY way to recover your wallet if you lose access.
  5. Confirm your seed phrase and create a password
  6. Congratulations! Your wallet is ready.
Never take screenshots of your seed phrase or store it digitally. Anyone with your seed phrase can steal your funds.
2

Add Polygon Network to MetaMask

CAPX lives on Polygon, not Ethereum mainnet

Quick Method (Recommended):

  1. Visit chainlist.org
  2. Search for "Polygon" or "Matic"
  3. Click "Connect Wallet" and approve in MetaMask
  4. Click "Add to MetaMask" for Polygon Mainnet (Chain ID: 137)
  5. Approve the network addition

Manual Method:

  1. Open MetaMask and click the network dropdown (top-center)
  2. Click "Add Network" → "Add a network manually"
  3. Enter these details:
    • Network Name: Polygon Mainnet
    • RPC URL: https://polygon-rpc.com
    • Chain ID: 137
    • Currency Symbol: POL (or MATIC)
    • Block Explorer: https://polygonscan.com
  4. Click "Save" and switch to Polygon network
3

Get POL for Transaction Fees

You need a small amount of POL to pay for gas fees

Every transaction on Polygon requires POL (formerly MATIC) to pay for "gas" (network fees). You'll need approximately $2-5 worth of POL to complete all transactions (buying CAPX + staking).

How to Get POL:

  1. Option A: Buy directly on an exchange (Coinbase, Binance, Kraken) - search for "POL" or "MATIC" (both refer to the same token) and withdraw to your MetaMask wallet on Polygon network
  2. Option B: Use a crypto on-ramp service:
    • Transak - Buy with credit/debit card
    • MoonPay - Buy with card or bank transfer
    • MetaMask's built-in "Buy" feature (varies by region)
  3. Option C: If you already have crypto on Ethereum or another chain, use a bridge like Polygon Bridge
Note: POL was previously known as MATIC. Some exchanges and wallets may still display it as "MATIC" - this is the same token. When buying or transferring, make sure it's on the Polygon network, not Ethereum.
Gas Fee Guide

Typical costs on Polygon:

  • Token swap: $0.01-0.05
  • Token approval: $0.01-0.03
  • Staking: $0.02-0.10

Total: ~$0.10-0.30 in POL for all transactions

4

Get USDT on Polygon

You'll swap USDT for CAPX on Uniswap

CAPX is paired with USDT on Uniswap. You need USDT (on Polygon network) to buy CAPX.

How to Get USDT on Polygon:

  1. Option A - Buy Directly:
    • Use on-ramp services (Transak, MoonPay) to buy USDT directly on Polygon
    • Make sure to select "Polygon" as the network when purchasing
  2. Option B - Transfer from Exchange:
    • Buy USDT on an exchange (Coinbase, Binance, Kraken)
    • Withdraw USDT to your MetaMask wallet
    • CRITICAL: Select Polygon network for withdrawal (NOT ERC20/Ethereum)
    • Copy your MetaMask wallet address and paste it as the withdrawal destination
  3. Option C - Bridge from Another Chain:
    • If you have USDT on Ethereum or another chain, bridge it to Polygon
    • Use Polygon Bridge or cross-chain bridges
NETWORK WARNING: Always double-check you're using the Polygon network when receiving USDT. Sending to the wrong network can result in permanent loss of funds.

Bridging Guide: Move USDT to Polygon

Already have USDT on Ethereum or TRON? Here's how to bridge it

Ethereum USDT → Polygon USDT

What is Bridging? Bridging transfers your tokens from one blockchain to another. Your USDT on Ethereum will be locked, and equivalent USDT will be released on Polygon.

Option 1: Official Polygon Bridge (Recommended for large amounts)

  1. Go to portal.polygon.technology/bridge
  2. Connect your MetaMask wallet
  3. Make sure you're on Ethereum network in MetaMask
  4. Select USDT as the token to bridge
  5. Enter the amount you want to bridge
  6. Click "Bridge" and confirm the transaction in MetaMask
  7. Wait time: 15-30 minutes for the bridge to complete
  8. Once complete, switch MetaMask to Polygon network to see your USDT

Option 2: Third-Party Bridges (Faster, good for smaller amounts)

  1. Jumper.exchange - Fast, aggregates multiple bridges
    • Connect wallet → Select Ethereum as source → Polygon as destination
    • Choose USDT → Enter amount → Review route → Confirm
  2. Across Protocol - Very fast (2-5 minutes)
    • Select From: Ethereum, To: Polygon
    • Choose USDT → Enter amount → Bridge
  3. Stargate Finance - Reliable LayerZero bridge
    • Connect wallet → Transfer tab → Ethereum to Polygon
    • Select USDT → Enter amount → Transfer
Gas Fees: Bridging from Ethereum requires ETH for gas fees (typically $5-20 depending on network congestion). Make sure you have enough ETH in your wallet before bridging.

TRON USDT (TRC20) → Polygon USDT

Important: TRON and Polygon are separate blockchains. You cannot send TRC20 USDT directly to a Polygon address. You must use a bridge or exchange.

Option 1: Use a Centralized Exchange (Easiest)

  1. Deposit your TRC20 USDT to a centralized exchange that supports both networks:
    • Binance, OKX, Bybit, or KuCoin
  2. Wait for the deposit to confirm (usually 1-5 minutes for TRON)
  3. Go to Withdraw → Select USDT
  4. Paste your MetaMask wallet address
  5. CRITICAL: Select Polygon as the withdrawal network
  6. Confirm the withdrawal
  7. USDT will arrive in your MetaMask on Polygon (usually 5-15 minutes)

Option 2: Cross-Chain Bridges

  1. Multichain (if available)
    • Connect TronLink wallet → Select TRON as source
    • Select Polygon as destination → Enter amount → Bridge
  2. SWFT Bridge
    • Select USDT-TRC20 as source → USDT-POLYGON as destination
    • Enter your Polygon wallet address → Complete the swap
NEVER send TRC20 tokens directly to a Polygon/Ethereum address without using a bridge or exchange. Your funds will be permanently lost.
Quick Comparison
Method Speed Fees Best For
Polygon Bridge (ETH) 15-30 min $5-20 (ETH gas) Large amounts, security-focused
Jumper/Across (ETH) 2-10 min $3-15 + small fee Speed, convenience
Exchange (TRON/ETH) 5-20 min $1-5 withdrawal fee Beginners, TRON users
SWFT Bridge (TRON) 5-15 min ~0.1-0.3% Direct TRON bridging

Frequently Asked Questions

POL (formerly known as MATIC) is the native cryptocurrency of the Polygon network. Just like you need gas to drive a car, you need POL to pay for "gas fees" (transaction costs) on the Polygon blockchain. Every action — swapping tokens, staking, approving contracts — requires a tiny amount of POL (usually $0.01-0.10 per transaction). Think of it as a postage stamp for your blockchain transactions. Note: Many exchanges and wallets still display this token as "MATIC" - it's the same token.

For the complete process (buying CAPX + staking), you'll need approximately $2-5 worth of POL. Polygon is very cheap compared to Ethereum! A typical breakdown: token approval ($0.01-0.03) + swap transaction ($0.01-0.05) + staking approval ($0.01-0.03) + staking transaction ($0.02-0.10). Having $5 worth of POL gives you a comfortable buffer.

Slippage is the difference between the expected price and the actual execution price. Crypto prices change constantly, so by the time your transaction is processed (5-30 seconds), the price might have moved slightly. Setting slippage to 0.5-1% means you're okay with up to 1% price movement. If the price moves more than your slippage tolerance, the transaction will fail to protect you. For volatile markets or low liquidity, you may need 2-3% slippage.

No, you cannot unstake early. When you stake CAPX for 24, 48, or 60 months, your tokens are locked in the smart contract for that entire period. This is designed to reward long-term holders and provide stability to the ecosystem. Make sure you're comfortable with the lock period before staking. Only stake funds you won't need during that time period.

Cryptocurrency security depends on YOU. Here are the golden rules:
  • Never share your seed phrase with anyone, ever. Not even "support staff."
  • Bookmark official sites (metamask.io, uniswap.org) to avoid phishing scams
  • Verify all addresses before sending transactions
  • Start small — test with a small amount first
  • Use strong passwords and enable 2FA where available
  • Keep your seed phrase offline — write it on paper, store it securely
CAPX's smart contracts are deployed on Polygon and secured by blockchain technology, but your wallet security is your responsibility.

This is a common and costly mistake. If you sent USDT on Ethereum network (ERC20) instead of Polygon, your funds are not lost forever — they're just on the wrong network. You can access them by switching your MetaMask to Ethereum network and bridging them to Polygon using Polygon Bridge. However, Ethereum gas fees are expensive ($10-50+), so always double-check the network before sending.

If you're starting from scratch: Setting up MetaMask (10 min) + buying POL/USDT (depends on payment method, could be instant to 1 hour) + swapping on Uniswap (1-2 min) + staking (1-2 min). Total: 30 minutes to 2 hours depending on your payment method. If you already have USDT on Polygon: Just 3-5 minutes for swapping and staking! Transactions on Polygon confirm in 5-30 seconds.

The minimum stake amount depends on the staking pool configuration set in the smart contract. Check the staking interface above for specific minimums. Generally, we recommend starting with at least $100-500 worth of CAPX to make the gas fees worthwhile (though they're very cheap on Polygon). You can always add more stakes later!

Troubleshooting Common Issues

"Transaction Failed" or "Out of Gas"

Solution:

  • Make sure you have enough POL (MATIC) for gas fees
  • Check you're on the correct network (Polygon, not Ethereum)
  • Try increasing gas limit in MetaMask advanced settings
  • Wait a few minutes and try again if network is congested
"Insufficient Liquidity" on Uniswap

Solution:

  • Increase your slippage tolerance to 2-3%
  • Try swapping a smaller amount
  • Check if you're using the correct trading pair (USDT/CAPX)
  • Wait and try again later if market is highly volatile
CAPX Not Showing in MetaMask

Solution:

  • Make sure you're on Polygon network in MetaMask
  • Manually add the token using contract address: 0xadd400Cf9De209267a3B4848b67d4Fe19e3214Cc
  • Refresh MetaMask or close and reopen it
  • Check transaction on PolygonScan to verify it completed
"Wrong Network" Error

Solution:

  • Open MetaMask and click the network dropdown at the top
  • Select "Polygon Mainnet" (NOT "Ethereum Mainnet")
  • If Polygon isn't listed, add it using Chainlist.org
  • Refresh the Uniswap or staking page after switching networks
"Approve" Button Not Working

Solution:

  • Wait for previous transactions to complete before approving again
  • Check MetaMask for pending transactions and speed them up if needed
  • Refresh the page and reconnect your wallet
  • Clear browser cache and try again
Transaction Stuck "Pending"

Solution:

  • Click on the pending transaction in MetaMask
  • Click "Speed Up" to increase gas fee
  • Alternatively, wait 5-10 minutes — Polygon is usually fast
  • Check status on PolygonScan
